Lift height and mast selection for stackers
It will come as no surprise that the mast configuration determines what the stacker is most suitable for. We therefore offer various configurations for our Toyota and CESAB machines. These include a single mast for a clear view, or a triple mast for maximum lift height with a low drive-through height. Thanks to the “free lift”, the machine can lift the forks without the mast extending immediately. This means you can still work effectively in containers, under mezzanine floors or in other areas with low ceilings.
Ask our advisors to calculate the residual capacity at high heights for you. In practice, a stacker that lifts 1,200 kg on the ground may have a different limit at a height of 4 metres. Every used vehicle is fully checked in our own workshop in Maasdijk or Tilburg and given a fresh VA safety inspection. Safety rules and certification for stackers
‘Do I need a certificate for a stacker?’ That question we get asked often. The rules for a pedestrian stacker are different from those for a forklift truck, but the Working Conditions Act does state that every user of a motorised means of transport must be demonstrably competent. We therefore advise you to always provide thorough instruction or certification for your staff. This makes the work safer and also reduces damage to goods and racks.
The annual safety inspection of the machine also ensures greater safety in your logistics process. Let our engineers check critical parts during the inspection, such as the chains, hydraulics and emergency stop devices. If Prins maintains and manages your stackers, you will always comply with the applicable laws and regulations. Your team will be grateful.
FAQ: Stackers
A pallet truck allows you to transport pallets across the floor. A stacker also allows you to move pallets vertically and place them in racks.
That depends on the model and the type of mast, of course. But on average, our Toyota and CESAB stackers can lift from approximately 1.5 metres to 6 metres in height.
You can, as long as the surface is flat and the stacker has sufficient lifting capacity. Did you know that there are special stackers with “initial lift”? These offer extra ground clearance for driving over loading ramps and thresholds.
A quality stacker from Toyota or CESAB will easily last 10 to 15 years, if you use it normally and maintain it properly. The condition of the battery is particularly important in this regard.
