Less than 12-months since the launch of Prins Forklifts UK Ltd based at Lympne near Hythe, the UK division of the Dutch forklift manufacturer Prins BV has steadily been growing the new business. Having sold over 100 machines in the first 10 months of trading, Prins UK have now invested heavily in a fleet of new and nearly new Toyota built machines for their hire fleet.

Comprising of LPG, Diesel and electric forklifts, managing director Mark Dorman explains that "gearing up for our customer's needs is vital to the growth of the business". These new machines are available for both short term peak period hire and long term contracts to suit customer's requirements. While the Prins Tiger model continues to dominate sales in the semi-rough terrain category the more conventional forklifts and electric pallet trucks form the majority of customer's needs. With ever increasing HSE demands on employers to have the right equipment to move heavy loads, sales of electric pallet trucks to garden centres, pack houses and fruit producers is seeing a big increase explains Mark, "we have invested in multiple machines for our customers".

With the vast Prins factory only a few hours away in Rotterdam, Holland we can draw on so many machines across the forklift spectrum without having to store them here at Lympne says operations manager Clive Richardson. "That coupled with the fact that our neighbours Laser Transport make daily import and exports to the continent means we can have machines to our customers within 48 hours if the product is not here in our warehouse."

The consumption of parts has also seen a steady growth as we take on more and more customers who require a reliable and swift service explains service manager Andy Whyatt. "Our team of dedicated service engineers and workshop staff allow us to tailor service packages to our customer’s usage on forklifts. Keeping a 'fast moving' parts stock is imperative but again with overnight deliveries from the factory and most other reputable parts suppliers offering a 'Just In Time' delivery system, we keep customers operational." "We could not have hoped for a better start to our new business and would like to thank everyone that has helped us along the way. Our motto 'setting new standards' written on every company vehicle means exactly that. We intend to offer an unrivalled, competitively priced products and service within our industry that has been long overdue."
